When creating a skin, do you usually alternate between both dark skins and light, or do you always go for just one?

The only thing about dark skins, is when the sun is bright out which makes the forum harder to see.

I have a fairly wide range, but I think the vast majority are light to neutral.

I've noticed that monitors also make a huge difference in visibility. When I was at work earlier, I couldn't hardly see anything here on one of my two monitors. Dragged the window to the other monitor, and it was better. Laptop at home is ok, too.

Me personally i prefer Dark Skins

As i think you can add more visual effects to a darker skin and things stand out alot more

However i do like the odd light skin as long as it looks good and not basic

I prefer dark themes myself, just as long as it's easy to read then that's what I prefer.

I think you should balance light and dark, if it's too dark that could make a problem on some monitors, tablets, phones... And also if it's too bright, you should find a line that combines them and makes the things you want visible - visible and the things you want barely visible or just there - darker.

That's a nice theme. I still really have a hard time seeing certain elements here. The word "actions" and the surrounding box, for instance are basically invisible to me, unless I have my monitor tilted just right.

Well, that's the point of it, the icons being barely visible and the bar around it only at like 20% opacity so it doesn't neglect the rest of the theme.

But when you can't see where to click to perform functions, it's not a good thing. If there weren't a box with an arrow in it at the top of the page, I would have no idea that something was there at all.
